Something more than a trail Or an ancient path Or wagon wheel ruts; A human hand Has placed these stones In the woods just so.

Signposts optional On the gravel; Landmarks prevail – Turn right At the old hickory, Where branches beckon With crooked arms.

The road crunches With distinct echoes Under heavy wheels And cautious feet, Almost natural Like us.
