Popovers.

popovers

One of things Pop used to make for us were popovers (no relation).  Simple to prepare and to us, a wee bit magical.  He knew the “trick” and they always came out perfectly, crusty on the outside with a soft buttery interior.  I have tried to make them but they don’t quite seem the same.  It might be recipe or the oven, but I wonder if it’s just whimsical memory having its way.
