Words Walk Passed

(I read story about a homeless person in Northeast USA who would recite Shakespeare to strangers on the street.)

I used to teach the world Ancient words from hearts; Ink and quill so deep the Sky would open Smiling secrets shared.

Something happened on the way I lost my sight as darkness Covered me with visions terrible And strange; Sad steps on roads Empty now not seen.

The words stayed inside Yet never went away; The whispered sharing sigh Lock nether demons gate; Others move aside So strange they think, Sounds awry.

The saddened walker walks, Believes she knows the reason; Without the words souls adrift I put them at their feet To take the fear away.

Some kind person understands My song a muted breath Beneath the sound Of all I lost long ago In Camelot by the sea.
